ABOUT

Name: Steve Taylor
Background:

Coaching since 2009 I was original lured into becoming a coach to help support the Cambridgeshire Women's County Team and am happy to say that I haven't look back. Having started in the women's game I became passionate about both establishing a foothold for and then improving women and girls cricket in Cambridgeshire. Much of my coaching history reflects this commitment having added the County Girls u11s, u13s, u15s and u17s and the CUWCC to my portfolio. As well as well as also coaching girls in 7 secondary schools across Cambridge as part of the Lady Taverners sponsored coaching, I have also established a Girls section at the City of Cambridge Cricket Club that can now boast around 100 members, and teams competing across 4 age groups.

However, my passion for coaching cricket goes well beyond women and girls cricket and I am currently coaching in more than 20 schools of varying types across Cambridgeshire involving all ages and abilities as I look to inspire the next generation of cricketers, working with groups as young as Reception age to develop fundamental skills all the way up to those studying at University; from beginners to several girls who have been selected as part of Sunrisers Emerging Player Pathway. As part of this coaching I work closely in partnership with the Cambridgeshire Cricket Board to provide Lady Taverners and Chance 2 Shine sponsored programmes in several primary, secondary and special needs schools in the Cambridgeshire area.

Philosophy:

As the title would suggest my philosophy is simply to 'INSPIRE' !!  Inspire all those I coach to want to get involved  and continue to participate in this great game.  The focus of my coaching is to provide a fun and safe environment, where everyone feels supported to enjoy and hopefully improve their cricket ability whilst being challenged.  I fully believe that innovation and variety is the spice of all inspiration so I am constantly looking to evolve my own ideas to energise my coaching, as well as keeping abreast of what's topical in terms of coaching in the modern game.
